Painting - Day 10 - Absent

I stayed home last Wednesday, and I just got Endoscopy done today at 11am. My left wrist hurts right now, because they stuck the needle through there to knock me out >_<", and something tells me it's going to bruise and cause more OW  ...bbllaahh  ... x_x

Today, I started pouring the 1st gallon size paint bucket into the wide mouth bottle I got from the Container Store. It poured alright, just some slight spills. I just bought a batch of bottles ($53.03 @_@") from them to test out the size and their cap screws - to see if it's compatibility with some of the other caps I already have; so I can draw fine lines and then ranging to thicker line ^.^

The spill paint was recycled by staining my smaller canvases, as if I was dying them in a bucket ^.^ hehe
Because the pigment is acrylic base, it means I never have to waste my paint as long as I got water. :)

It's Spring break for me since Wednesday (03/24th) - till April 4th. I've got a lot to get done before the break is over. Marcy wants us to be able to tell her the scale of all our paintings for the Senior Thesis Art Show by the time we come back. :: deep exhales...::.... I can't believe the end is this close within my grasp! I still have ideas, and things I want to explore; but I'm afraid I won't have time to complete everything before the hanging date - which is May 05th and 6th. The show will be on May10th, and opening reception will be at 6:30PM. I don't know how our two large groups are going to coordinate everything this year. @_@"  - We need press release, show cards, and site. (Which some people suggested Lauren and Me - because I took the course before them and saw how last year's got coordinated.) Then we need our own individual site, art cards and or business cards done before the show is up; which I intend on completing within my break, along with catching up with school work and spending some extra time to paint in school? :: sighs..:: SO MUCH TO DO!!!

I can't wait for May25th !! My Graduation Ceremony !! The first one my Grandparents gets to see ^.^  :: very happy ::

Painting - Day 09 - 24 hrs

Once again I worked on the upper half torso. But soon that part got filled with paint, so I started working on her lower body on the canvas as well till the end of the class. I started to attempt the over head hand tonight, but mostly on the gesture. However, I started to run out of medium tonight, and after I refilled all my colored bottles - I was able to take 2 Large empty bottles home to refill with more medium hehee. ^.^

But I think I kinda killed the face tonight in comparison to the progress I made last class....:: sighs.. :: I had a bad day.... maybe it shows? lol

Painting - Day 08 - 21 hrs

Went in to paint tonight, and found out Marcy wasn't there Monday night. I got comforted a lot after I informed them of why I was absent. My model felt bad for me, she kept on looking at me with a sad poutie look. :: amused ::

Tonight I just worked on the upper half of the painting because I'm determined to get that face right and pretty. ^.^

I also got a chance to discuss with Marcy about the idea I have, but she loves what I'm doing now and don't want me to switch lanes. She's also going to see if I can get a model on Saturday if I go in and put forth some over time ^.^

Painting - Day 07 - Absent

I ended up in the Emergency room yesterday in Elmhurst Hospital.

They kept me there for about 5hours because I had a chest pain that lasted over 15hours combined. (twice now...when I was trying to write pain, I ended up writing Paint...@_@" - I think my subconscious is trying to tell me something hahhaha....)

They did 2EKGs, 1 X-Ray, 1 Urine test, and gave me 2 regular, plain, white, generic Tylenols > right before I left with my discharge papers and a excuse slip for my internship place.

The up side of that eternal visit was a 2week prescription made from uncertain diagnosis with the hope that it'll work :: wink wink ::, and a reminder of how crappy hospital food is. Oh Oh..... and listening to hospital gossips from the cops and the nurses, while a drunk stabbed patient snores like Jurassic Park was moved next to me.

I went to see my family doctor today, and also saw a G.I. by referral.

So this week I'll be getting Sonography done for my abdomen area.

On March 27th, 11AM - I'll be getting Endoscopy done, which is basically a doctor sticking a camera into my stomach to get a grand tour of my insides.

And if this is not a stomach problem...I'll be seeing a doctor about my lungs... :: said the "Non-Smoker"...::... Because that's what was recommended during my 5hour visit.

The End.

On the other hand,

I've been thinking about making a painting scroll that will be the size of Picasso's "Guernica" = 11ft x 25.6ft = 349 cm × 776 cm = (137.4 in × 305.5 in)

And I want this piece to be purely abstract, which I'll be doing on my own time.

I think this scale will match the school's Great Hall (6,289 Sq Feet) a lot better. :)

Now I just need to find out the height of this place!!!! @_@"

Painting - Day 06 - 18th hr

Broke a sweat....

I went back into the figure and spent most of the time drawing the face - Repeatedly....
It made me a little paranoid about messing it up, so as precaution.... I'm going to set it up standing and paint with a brush to draw before I go back on it with a bottle.

Right now, I feel like the proportion part is off by the head, breasts... legs... so to me the general thing is wrong... so I'm not liking it as much. Secondly, the model is standing, and with one leg on the ground; maybe I'll sketch and then paint on my own some time too.... I don't want a slightly different pose every time, it messes with all the time I'm putting into measuring.

We also had a visitor during the middle of our class, Professor Richard Pitts came in to check up on us. He's also teaching the other senior painting class. He encouraged me to put together the smaller paintings with this larger piece, and people will read it together even if I don't right now. So I did, and I think it might work.... I just don't think the colors work together as a whole....

Marcy has been encouraging me to make more, especially since I did bring it more canvases. And I'm very glad she likes my current paintings so much. But I don't know if I'll be able to put everything in the show? Since we don't know how they're going to be curating it till we're all done in May. :: sighs ...:: I also need to know the measurements of the Great Hall, like at least the height of it. (Which no one has told us...)

Suikang also walked in later on but mostly to look around.

"Lots to do, so little time..."

>>>>> I kept on having ideas on other paint applications, like how I'd usually draw with pastel sticks. It leads be back to sponge brushes and cake decorating techniques.... @_@" aahhhh.....

Painting - Day 05 - 15th hr

Over the weekend, I bought 5 old paintings from home to school. So today I had plenty of canvases to do whatever I please. I did started drawing on one of the 24"x48" canvas at first with blue paint, and then I pieced them together for a bigger scale... Because I saw Paul using a large scale when I went in on Saturday... it made me think and I thought I should too since the Great Hall is really big. So I put two canvases together and made it 24"x96".

The started of a new painting today:

Phase 1

I was very concerned about proportion, so I blocked it out with black gesso first.

>>>> ....BEFORE.....

I really liked painting on top of this dypitch project that was made from Feinbergs 2008 class, where I worked with twine, toth picks, tissue paper, strings, egg shells, and my own hair.
>>>>>
.......................

Phase 2

Started covering shadow areas with red, and yellow where the light was hitting.
...............................

Last Phase of the night...

I went in with blue to re-do the proportions again...and lining...
Now I'm just praying the face don't come out scarey with this bottle line drawing technique... :: fingers crossed ::

Painting - Day 04 - 12th hr

I started working on the 30"x30" canvas that I bought in on Monday. VanNa even gave me a new pose that I was in love with, but the canvas was too small for my liking, so now I'm going to wait for a larger scale canvas to get bought into the school this weekend. ^.^

All the excitement of this new painting quickly faded tonight and I was just not feeling anything I was doing. So I called it quits rather early... :/ ...

VanNa tried to give me one other pose with her arms before I gave up. I just tried to get the paint back into a bottle and patterned some areas on the foot painting.

Painting - Day 03 - 9th hr

I bought in an old painting from 2006, 30"x30" that I made during Professor Jessel's class.

But since I never finished it nor did I like it, it shall now become the background layer of my new painting lol And after I go through my basement, there'll be more paintings getting a face lift. (I only liked that shade of blue greenish color a the lower left corner, and the contrast it has with that light yellowish color I mixed ^.^)

... Beyond that.. I worked on the Portrait painting and it's almost done.

The foot got a background color too, but needs more work.

Lastly, the hand painting that I was very happy about the last time got ruined today.
A guy pushed his large canvas on top of my smaller canvas and ruined it for me.
His canvas was stuck to mine, so Melissa and Marcy helped me get it off.
A knife had to be used.... as any pulling would of ripped the paint off my canvas.

I was really angry, even though I didn't realize it was that painting at first since I was so tired.
It took me a while to shake the impulse of an eye for an eye.... I kept on telling Melissa I was Pro Blind. :-/.... :: sighs..::.. Anyways, I couldn't bare to look at that painting as it made me upset.

So Marcy, being a wonderful Professor decided to help me a little more and soaked medium on top of the canvas that was still stuck onto mine after being detached by cutting. The canvas is now flatter, but either way I more or less so will need to collage on top of this one... Marcy said more paint... but it just didn't struck me that way. Frankly, I don't want to look at it for a while...

The green streak there is where the paint got pushed... ~_~" aarruugghhh

Christopher.... the guy who caused me all this misery tonight ... was informed by Melissa of what happened... Because I was trying to restrain myself from cursing him out lol Especiall when I was watching him bring down his painting. Bu they were right, he did seem like a decent guy...

I simply pointed out "the Preist boinked a boy" - So I don't care how nice he looks!!

But he did apologize afterwards and we spoke a bit before I left for the night.

I said this something like this to him:

As artists, creators of new life, we just have to make it work some how!!!

Tattoo Apprenticeship & Gallery Internship

Tattoo Apprenticeship

So last night I went to the shop at 8pm...and checked the after math of what was done on Friday.
I was trying to sync his contacts, emails, and other web applications. So I was on the hunt for different usful softwares, like 8hands... which I was disappointed by, since they only have it for PC and not MAC. I also created an online drop box for everyone to share files and info. so they can work easier fromt their location of comfort. I just love establishing structure! it makes things run efficiently... and then makes more productivitiy! :)

Anyways, back to last night - we all went to Fontana's about 10pm. Guy's Band Stellar Ego perform was performing at 11pm, so we helped out with ticketing and hand support during voting lol... I really respect and admire what he's trying to pursue here, so I'm gonna try and contribute what I can during this hectic semester for me.

The Orange I tattooed last Sunday.... my 1st ^.^

Gallery Internship

I went to the Space Gallery today, and went in for my first full day sitting. I was all by myself since everyone went to the event space near Vernon Bluv. at 5th Street in L.I.C. So I took the initiative to clean up and organize the gallery space. It gave me a really good work out lol.... I was sweating most of the day hahhaa.... Once in abit I would check the Gallery's Facebook to check for updates or adds...and etc Then headed over to the event space where they're hanging stuff for MoFa (Museum of Fake Art). I got some school paper work signed and filled out.
I saw a few things I really enjoyed like the gorilla with the body up against the wall with no head, so it look like he ramed his head in. Then it's the bed with christmas lights popping out of it.... looks like a painful resting place but colorful hahaa.... and so much more ^.^

They informed me while I was out sick, they discussed to let us...the interns put up our own show for March. This peice of information for me all excited and giddy lol... So now I'm on the hunt amongst my peers for artwork selection and also the joy of being able to put in my own work too for a gallery show. ^.^ woot woot....
